Development of a new cover system for recycling containers for Stockholm Vatten. The cover utilizes track-steered wheels to reduce the torque required to operate the opening/closing mechanism.
In this project we had full responsibility for the product development process, including structural integrity, ergonomics and safety, and cost efficiency.
Each stage of the project was discussed in detail with users (ÅVC workers), manager (ÅVC forewoman), and product owner (Stockholm Vatten engineer).
This project was a great opportunity to gather knowledge from experts in their fields. The users of these containers had wants and needs which did not reach the purchaser at HQ. Relaying this information was as important as the resulting prototype itself.
The project resulted in the construction of a full-scale on-site prototype. It received the highest possible grade.
